Hi! I am Ashley DeMenna (she/her). I am a down to earth, sex-positive Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a wealth of experience working with individuals, families, and couples. I take a conversational approach to my sessions and I specialize in working with clients who come through with a variety of backgrounds. I have worked with presenting problems such as intimacy concerns, sexual dysfunction, LGBTQ+ concerns, relationship issues, trauma, sexual trauma and other sex related disorders. I am licensed to treat clients in both Rhode Island and Connecticut.

If you have experienced a trauma, I would love to work with you. Helping clients heal from trauma, which includes managing their stress and anxiety, is my area of expertise. Additionally, I’ll work with you to improve your self-esteem, improve your quality of sleep, and strengthen your relationships with others. This is especially true with couples (e.g., positive communication, strengthening bonds, improving sexual health/managing intimacy issues). My approach is client centered, while also utilizing some additional therapeutic tools and frameworks from modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, psychodynamic and family of origin frameworks, trauma focused care, self compassion framework and mindfulness therapy. Born in San José, Costa Rica and raised in the New York City Tri-State Area, I identify as a bilingual (English & Spanish) and bicultural therapist. I provide individual therapy to teens and adults.
