I specialize in the treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, chronic pain, and insomnia. I use a warm, strengths-focused, and collaborative style and emphasize integrative, whole person care. I currently have availability for in-person appointments on Mondays and Fridays at Boston Behavioral Medicine in Brookline and also offer telehealth sessions on Wednesdays.

Sometimes that comes in the form of therapy. I specialize in working with women who have been through trauma or difficult life experiences and are suffering as a result. As a psychotherapist, I have experience working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, family relationships and trauma.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and enjoy working with couples and individuals on relationship and other issues such as communication, conflict resolution, self-esteem, anxiety, stress, and depression. I have years of experience at various clinical settings. Other than my outpatient therapy work, I have an extensive experience providing wraparound service for families with children who have severe emotional and behavioral needs. I have worked for Elder Protective Services with elders who are neglected and abused. I have also provided psychiatric evaluation at emergency services and home-based family stabilization work for families with children who are in psychiatric crisis.

"Dr. Ducharme is a licensed clinical psychologist with approximately 35 years of experience. Throughout his career, Dr. Ducharme has been affiliated with Boston Medical Center and Boston University School of Medicine. He remains on the staff of BMC, however since the onset of Covid 19 his practice has transitioned to a virtual practice. In addition, he maintains an office in Framingham for evaluations and psychological testing.

I have 16 years of working as a psychotherapist, during which time I have treated individuals, couples, and families. I developed a significant interest in working with couples over the past decade since starting my private practice, whereas prior to doing so I primarily saw individuals in outpatient clinics. I specialize in alleviating depression, anxiety, trauma, mood regulation, and communication difficulties using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy with a psychodynamic base.

For over twenty five years I have enjoyed counseling individuals. I work with them to develop coping strategies which will improve their situation and empower them to achieve more satisfying lives. My successes come because I start where my clients are and treat them non-judgmentally. As essential as that is, I also believe in solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy. My goal is for them to learn from therapy, not to make therapy a way of life.
