I currently hold a Masters in Addiction and Mental Health and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health. I take an integrated approach to counseling but am based in a logotherapeutic and Existential Psychotherapeutic theoretical orientation. I utilize these approaches while incorporating concepts from therapies such as Somatic and Emotion Focused therapy. Additionally, I am currently practicing EMDR. If you are looking for a more philosophical approach that focuses on the existential givens and our place in the world while allowing room for our emotions and attachments, then I hope to work with you.

I am passionate about helping individuals work through and navigate the impacts of trauma and stress on every day life and relationships, while simultaneously exploring the mind/body connection with creative arts and somatic movements. I believe that most people go through something difficult in their lives and need help moving through the resulting pain that they feel. My goal is to make you feel safe, comfortable, and connected to me while we do our work together. I am a trauma informed therapist who works with a variety of clients and client issues. My work includes anxiety, depression, complex trauma, substance use, parenting, and life transitions in adolescents and adults. I am person-centered and believe that sessions should be focused on the needs of the client.

Our life's work is helping clients achieve a better sense of self and happiness...more recently we've recognized that without good mental health providers finding this balance in life can be more difficult and stressful. As a result, we tend toward and Integrative approach and have our clients transform into the people they want to be. We see each client as an individual with many parts to their identity. Utilizing a holistic and systemic approach we help clients reintegrate the parts of themselves to function better as individuals and within their systems. Our focus tends toward a systems based approach using behavior methods.

I believe that we all have an inherent ability to heal deeply, oftentimes we just need a safe environment to begin to open and step on this healing journey. When we realize that disoriented parts of ourselves cause imbalance and problems, the awareness itself leads the way to becoming whole and come home to ourselves. As we move through the story of life in time and space, we carry the past to the present and the present to the future. Our bodies – physical and subtle hold so much of our stories beneath the surface. My goal, using somatic-based approaches, is to help you reattune to our existential wisdom and bring lasting change.

My current philosophy is that if PTSD is defined as past trauma experienced in the present via different symptoms, then every clinical presentation is one of trauma. Trauma focused therapists, such as myself, look at every client as unique and that they do not (and never have) fit into the boxes that other therapists have wanted them to fit into. Trauma therapists look at your past to better understand where your symptoms come from and how to resolve them. You will learn what you avoid and how you avoid it. Our hope is that you will work with us so that you can develop a more courageous attitude and face your unfinished business.
