My experience and educational background are directly related and have provided me with a well-rounded background in Therapy. I am a Military veteran with 30 plus years of experience working with patients in psychiatric hospitals, state mental health facilities, Illinois Department of Corrections, and in private practice. I am currently licensed to practice in Illinois, Kansas and Georgia. I also provide Tele-health service to Military members overseas (OCONUS).

My specialization is focused on DBT and ACT, empowering, empirically based psychotherapy approaches that assist clients of all ages in meeting therapeutic goals in ways that are tangible and measurable while validating the client experience. DBT recognizes emotion as a valid response to experience, perceived or otherwise, with a focus on the development of skills that improve function and well-being. DBT skills include Mindfulness; Emotion Regulation; Distress Tolerance; and Interpersonal Effectiveness. ACT focuses on increasing mental flexibility and resilience through acceptance, mindfulness, and behavior-change strategies.

Renee is passionate about therapy; yet, she has a sensitive presence in the process. Renee works with teens, young adults and adults to create healthy change, relieve stress, and give support for relationship issues. She works with anxiety issues, while many of the clients she works with have a background of Complex Trauma. She gently and carefully approaches them to create more change for more ease, care and understanding in your life. As well, Renee does strength building therapy for identity development including 'the self', as well as, 'sexual and gender identity'.

This a group practice that employs clinicans of various ethnicities and backgrounds. People come to therapy due to feeling excessive stress at work, at home, or in their relationships. They find the pressures of everyday life have exceeded their abilities, overwhelmed their senses, and left them with an inability to cope. They are often having problems with school, completing tasks, getting along with others at work, and finding activities enjoyable. The facility is located on a main street with free parking. This is a private practice with a private waiting room in a very comfortable & soothing setting. Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. When you call, we will do a brief intake, verify your insurance benefits & schedule your first appointment. We do not have a waiting list and can schedule your first appointment within the same week.
