Hello! My name is Yahaira and I am a bilingual therapist who has been serving clients in Lake County for the past 14 years. I have worked with children, adolescent and their families with varying diagnosis and life issues. I believe it is important as a therapist to recognize that every client is different, and will need an approach specifically adapted to them. My role in the therapeutic process will be to encourage clients to collaborate in regaining hope in their lives, and overcoming difficulties.

We provide a broad range of psychological and diagnostic services to children, adolescents, families and adults. Trained in the assessment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder, clinical and legal issues related to neuropsychological, emotional and intellectual deficits.

I treat children, adolescents, couples and family in a variety of therapeutic means. I have used cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, EMDR, behavioral, and eclectic therapies in addition to others. I also have experience working with behavioral, mood, anxiety, conduct and other specialties. I appreciate diversity and love working with others of various cultures, abilities and races.

My experience and educational background are directly related and have provided me with a well-rounded background in Therapy. I am a Military veteran with 30 plus years of experience working with patients in psychiatric hospitals, state mental health facilities, Illinois Department of Corrections, and in private practice. I am currently licensed to practice in Illinois, Kansas and Georgia. I also provide Tele-health service to Military members overseas (OCONUS).

While every client is unique, I will work with you to uncover what it at the root of what is causing you to seek counseling. We will identify where you would like to be in life and what steps can be taken to achieve the path to a better life. I have experience working with individuals, couples and families.

Welcome! We provide traditional and holistic healing for mind, body & spirit health. We work with individuals, couples, families & groups age 5 and up. The facility is located on a main street with free parking. This is a private practice with a private waiting room in a very comfortable & soothing setting. Look for the yellow house with raspberry trim. Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. When you call, we will do a brief intake, verify your insurance benefits & schedule your first appointment. We do not have a waiting list and can schedule your first appointment within the same week.

I am Dr. Sylvia Kobe, and I am a Licensed Clinical psychologist. My associate Dr. Mary-Zitta Muabe and I collaborate to cover a broad counseling spectrum. Together Dr. Muabe and I specialize in marriage, family therapy, and spiritual maturity. We also work with teens, young adults, and individuals battling anxiety, depression, or struggles to cope with every-life issues. We believe in empowering our clients, encouraging them to see that life is all about second chances, and with the right kind of intervention, the best is yet to come.

One of the greatest things about counseling is that you have everything you need to initiate the change you want to see in your life. I would love to help you navigate in uncovering those resources. Api is also welcoming of individuals who would like to incorporate their spiritual and/or religious beliefs into their healing journey and growth process. Depending on their individual needs, she uses a variety of evidence-based approaches, such as Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help clients. It's important to remember that counseling is not a one-size-fits-all solution.

I really enjoy working with all clients. I specialize in working with couples and children, adolescents, teenagers, and young adults. I like combining wellness and mental health. I will incorporate mind and body techniques in my sessions when I feel they would be beneficial. I help couples work on any relationship issues. I help couples effectively communicate with each other. I incorporate art therapy and play therapy when working with kids if needed. Counseling is my passion. Hello! I’m Dr. Kala Taylor ,(She), I currently work private practice with (The Psychology Center) in Chicago. Previously I worked psychotherapy in the State Government Correctional setting under the exempt licensure title Clinical Psychologist/Sr Psych. Inmates under my care have described my therapeutic approach as "nonjudgmental" and "compassionate." My personal experiences have led me to cultivate a deep empathy for all beings. and I’m committed to being (not just inclusive but) welcoming towards “others.” My experience working in mental health has led me to focus on working to help individuals with personal challenges.
