I am passionate about working with you to develop freedom and resilience to deal with past childhood trauma and everyday stress of life. So often life experiences have been traumatic and contribute to struggles with depression, anxiety and inability to function. I work from a somatic and body centered and psycho-dynamic approaches that meets the needs of teens and women with childhood trauma, addictions, anxiety and eating disorders. My focus is to engage the whole person: mind, body, will, spirit and emotions. My intention is to bring hope, resilience and grace into all difficult life experiences.

Welcome! We provide traditional and holistic healing for mind, body & spirit health. We work with individuals, couples, families & groups age 5 and up. The facility is located on a main street with free parking. This is a private practice with a private waiting room in a very comfortable & soothing setting. Look for the yellow house with raspberry trim. Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. When you call, we will do a brief intake, verify your insurance benefits & schedule your first appointment. We do not have a waiting list and can schedule your first appointment within the same week.

I work primarily with adults and adolescents struggling with any combination of anxiety disorders, depression and bipolar disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and sexual dysfunction. I work best with people who are willing to make changes to get back into living their lives according to their personal values.

Frequent mental health challenges that I often work with include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, shame, grief, stress, pornography addiction, & boundaries. I enjoy also helping with communication & empowering clients to make positive changes. Hello, my name is Greg Mahoney and I have been a Professional Counselor for over 30 years. I have a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor licensed by the State of Illinois. I have worked in numerous settings: Inpatient, Outpatient, a Substance Abuse Clinic, and in Churches. I have wide-ranging experience both professionally and personally. I have been married to my wife for 32 years and we have raised three daughters. My work is with men, women and late adolescents in an effort to provide a greater understanding of how one's past has influenced the present and how to make changes for the future. As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist I specialize in anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, sexual addiction (I am CSAT), job stress, relational distress, parenting issues and past abuse. I use various treatment methods including Behavioral therapy, CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and certified in the Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) for trauma of various kinds.

Greg’s passion is his work with men and men’s issues, their families and marital relationships as well as working with teens. Seeing clients age 12 and above are his area of expertise. I believe in meeting people where they are and providing educational as well as open social support with mental health needs.
