As a therapist with a specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling, I also help individuals, that may be struggling with anxiety, depression, infidelity, substance abuse, grief, divorce, and navigating a blended family. Together, we will set goals, acquire tools and develop coping mechanisms that will strengthen relationships, build confidence and uncover the true potential within each individual.

Starting therapy can be intimidating, and for many people, reaching out is the hardest part. I help people who are struggling with their emotions and who feel overwhelmed by their daily lives, work, and routines. I help people who are feeling dissatisfied with their relationships with their friends, partners, and family members. I also help people who want to deepen their understanding of and heal past experiences or traumatic events. My objective is to provide an honest, supportive space for you to process your emotions and to help you develop the skills and tools you need to overcome the challenges you are facing.

It is my focus to emphasize the development of a trusting relationship to create a safe space for the therapeutic process. With a servant’s heart, I takes pride in working with clients in a collaborative effort to explore feelings, identify needs and create goals. I utilizes a holistic approach to address the functional, emotional and psychosocial health of the client.

The journey from adolescence to adulthood can be complicated. Knowing this, I finds peace in walking side by side with my clients, and helping them develop coping tools they will need for their transformational journey. I truly have a passion for helping teens & young adults navigate the challenges and transitions that come with growing into their true and fullest self. I have established two multi-faceted counseling centers in Naperville and Batavia and bring over 30 years of clinical experience working with individuals, families, couples and children. I have worked with many different presenting issues including adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, suicide risk, stress, loss, trauma, struggles with drugs and alcohol, family problems, child welfare, family problems, offenders, and relationship difficulties. I feel comfortable working with clients ranging in age from children to adults and feel especially well-equipped to work with clients facing discrimination and marginalization including members of various immigrant communities, LGBTQIA+ clientele, black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC).

Renee is passionate about therapy; yet, she has a sensitive presence in the process. I collaborate with adults in individual and relationship counseling. Typical issues we work on together are depression, anxiety, grief, addictions, eating disorders, LGBT concerns, ACOA issues, stress, men's issues, and if it a specific client request - spirituality concerns. I offer Wednesday, Friday and Saturday appointments by telehealth exclusively. Due to the convenience and popularity of telehealth, I hold all sessions via telehealth and no longer offer in-person office sessions.

I am a license-eligible psychologist practicing in the Chicagoland area, working primarily with individuals and couples in non-traditional, ethically non-monogamous, intercultural, and/or interracial relationships. I specialized in traumatic stress psychology during my clinical training and education, which provided the framework for the compassion-based and holistic approach I take when working with clients who have experienced difficult and stressful events in their lives. I also hold a certification in Primary Care Psychology, adding insight and knowledge about the way in which our bodies and minds interact in reaction to stress.
