Across my experiences as a clinician, I witnessed universal aspects of what drew people to seeking help. Whether it was physical, mental, or spiritual hardship, many had a general goal from their hardships that also became universal. People wanted to be free of their pain, understand from it, and grow from it. Who doesn’t want to be healed from their wounds? Before we can grow, we first must understand our wounds. Understanding has always served as a foundation to the ongoing result we seek to flourish in, our growth.

Being human is so beautiful, and can also be very difficult. Our bodies hold stories of great beauty, and also great shame. Often stories of pain, shame, and harm get minimized and not tended to. As a result, these stories are held in our bodies and can lead to addictions, anxiety, depression, loss of connection, anger, sadness, self-doubt, negative self-esteem, overwhelming emotions, and disorientation.
