I am Dr. Sylvia Kobe, and I am a Licensed Clinical psychologist. My associate Dr. Mary-Zitta Muabe and I collaborate to cover a broad counseling spectrum. Together Dr. Muabe and I specialize in marriage, family therapy, and spiritual maturity. We also work with teens, young adults, and individuals battling anxiety, depression, or struggles to cope with every-life issues. We believe in empowering our clients, encouraging them to see that life is all about second chances, and with the right kind of intervention, the best is yet to come.

I am a caring and compassionate therapist with experience working with Black and Brown youth, young adults, middle aged adults and seniors. I am passionate about social justice and work to continue building my own cultural responsiveness. I consider my practice trauma informed in order to elevate the growth, resiliency, and healing of my clients. I treat clients who are seeking to manage their suffering, and may struggle with depression, anxiety, stress management, searching for identity and meaning, relationship issues, low self-concept, sexual/physical and emotional abuse, neglect, traumatic events and racial stress/trauma.

I really enjoy working with all clients. I specialize in working with couples and children, adolescents, teenagers, and young adults. I like combining wellness and mental health. I will incorporate mind and body techniques in my sessions when I feel they would be beneficial. I help couples work on any relationship issues. I help couples effectively communicate with each other. I incorporate art therapy and play therapy when working with kids if needed. Counseling is my passion. Founder of the Holistic Therapy Institute, Dr. Cynthia Yesko is an intuitive counselor & educator with the privilege of helping clients rework old stress and trauma patterns that can interfere with health and wellness into more updated patterns that help to navigate ordinary stressors and extraordinary challenges. She uses techniques such as music therapy (Dr. Porges' Safe & Sound Protocol), meditation, mindfulness, progressive relaxation, guided imagery, deep breathing, & Reiki to help reset the body’s natural relaxation response. In a regulated, state, solutions tend to present themselves and positive changes are abundant.

Licensed in Texas and Illinois. As we navigate our unique journey in life, sometimes additional support is needed along the way. My interactions with clients are grounded in compassion, respect, empathy, and an understanding of cultural impacts. My role as a therapist is to help educate and empower clients so that they develop the insight and skills necessary to overcome their own personal and situational challenges. Examining the core of your presenting symptoms can be challenging but you are worth the life changing experience. I work with couples, families, & individuals including adults and adolescents ages 14+.

My counseling style is to meet my clients where they are at. This means that we will take a look at your life currently and where you would like to be. Then we'll work together to make short term and long term goals. During our sessions we will be exploring some of the roots of your challenges and how to make changes so that you can achieve your goals. I come from a very holistic standpoint, and I believe that working on your mind, body and spirit is very important, as they are all interconnected. As a Christian counselor, I offer my clients the opportunity to pursue long lasting change through the power of Christ.
