Hello! A little bit about me...I tend to use a myriad of approaches when it comes to counseling, as I recognize that each person may need something different in their experience. I believe that every person is the expert on his/her/their own life, and I am simply another human sitting across from you specially trained to assist, validate, and empower you. I prioritize the creation of a genuine relationship with each client, lending itself to a place of solace and retreat, where clients can find unconditional support, trust, empowerment and solidarity.

Professional Counseling Solutions is a program of Madison County Catholic Charities. Our two offices are located in Alton and Granite City. We accept insurance. We also offer a sliding fee scale for services based on household income. Our therapeutic team includes LCPC and LCSW therapists.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have 25+ years of experience working with individuals who are struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, or other mental health or substance use disorders. In the fast-paced world we live in, we are constantly facing heightened feelings of stress caused by workplace, parenting, family, couple or other relationship conflicts. Unfortunately, for many, alcohol or drugs are used to “manage” the difficult times. It is my goal to help clients navigate their most complex feelings and to provide the tools and coping skills needed to return hope, inner peace and happiness to their lives.

Life is hard. Everyone walks through tough times, and no one should have to do it alone. It is my goal to walk with my clients through trials and see them emerge a stronger, healthier version of themselves. It takes courage to ask for help, therefore everyone who walks through my door is treated with respect and met with empathy and compassion.

I am qualified to help clients with trauma using EMDR and TFCBT. I also have experience with addiction and substance use treatment. I have experience with couples, individuals, families, and adolescents.

We work with a variety of clients, and because we are a group practice with diverse experience and niches, we have someone for everyone! We see clients 18 and older and some providers will see kids and youth! Ideal clients for us are those looking for telehealth services or those who are needing services in their home because they are homebound (or seniors living in long-term care communities). We enjoy working with clients are who self-motivated and will work with issues with either acute or chronic issues. We do have a few providers that see clients in-office in Belleville, IL.

For over 30 years, I have been committed to providing hope and healing to people of all ages. Folks come to therapy for a variety of reasons but generally are hoping to develop a relationship in which they can show up and talk about what really matters to them. Within the context of this respectful, safe, and confidential relationship, I will help you to examine how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interacting to keep you stuck.

Life’s journey sometimes takes us on an unwanted detour or a journey where we lose direction. It is this passion that I strive to assist those on the path to healing from the hurts of life and finding direction on the journey. Processing of information and experiences is just one portion of the healing process. As individuals we all experience life stressors at some point in our lives. It’s when those same stressors/traumas cause our lives to unravel that I am here to help you get life back in order and on track.

She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, esteemed author, speaker, and founder of Get to the Root Counseling, P. C. Her passion for healing stems from her experiences, shaping her into a compassionate practitioner. Rachel graduated with a Master's degree in Social Work from Saint Louis University in 2011. Before starting a private practice in 2018, she was employed as a school social worker and mental health counselor.
