Now accepting new clients! I have a passion for working with children who have been through trauma, and who struggle with maladaptive behaviors, anxiety, ADHD, & relational issues. I also work with parents to build knowledge, communication, & a plan that works for both child & parent.

My name is Angela Johnson, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 15 years of clinical experience working with young adults and the LGBTQ+ community with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Trauma, PTSD, and Panic Attacks. I utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Couples Therapy, Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Focused during my treatments with clients. I believe it is also my job to help clients learn about themselves and determine what is important and what is not.

Elissa has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and Master’s Degree in Divinity. Currently, Elissa is a student at Capella University working towards a Master’s of Mental Health Counseling. She has worked as a chaplain in a trauma level 1 hospital, as a substitute teacher, and a youth director. Elissa works with individuals of all ages and has served alongside families from birth to death. Elissa has spent much of her career walking with families in the grief process. She works with all faith backgrounds including the "nones" and "dones". Elissa also currently works as the Stated Clerk of her local denomination.

Taking the first step reaching out to a counselor can be difficult, however, Ashley loves meeting new people and quickly is able to put people at ease. She finds great enjoyment hearing other people’s stories. Her approach with children and teens includes a lot of humor and is lighthearted with lots of play and silliness. Her approach with adults is unconditional positive regard seeing them through the lens of grace. She always offers encouragement and hope with a side of gentle challenging of unhealthy patterns.

I have been in the mental health field for some time, and in my journey I have found a passion for helping others, especially when there are many things to consider: physical health, mental health, spiritual health, recovery from addiction, etc... It's my belief to look at the person as a whole rather than a list of concerns.
