I'm here to tell you that a lot of times we give many stressful variables a lot of power. We give so much power in fact, that you're not able to unpack what is real and what is the mind creating barriers to success and true joy. These variables can take many forms including addictions, depression, past traumatic events, and anxiety, especially related to future transitions. Most significantly, we lose a sense of who we are and what we have to offer others.

Being human is so beautiful, and can also be very difficult. Our bodies hold stories of great beauty, and also great shame. Often stories of pain, shame, and harm get minimized and not tended to. As a result, these stories are held in our bodies and can lead to addictions, anxiety, depression, loss of connection, anger, sadness, self-doubt, negative self-esteem, overwhelming emotions, and disorientation. Jim is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has worked in the field of addiction and recovery, for over 34 years. His passion also lies in helping those who struggle with anxiety. Jim has experienced, that when anxiety is left untreated, it often gets worst; potentially immobilizing an individual. Jim brings a tremendous amount of knowledge, hope, and empathy to families struggling with addiction and mental illness. As a married man, and father of six, Jim has a fresh unique-perspective on family dynamics; along with the pressure that kids, adolescents, and parents experience in today's world.

I enjoy working with teens/young adults and their families and are successful in guiding the family system through the tough journey of adolescence and launching into independence. I use new concepts in the M.H. field to adapt therapy to individual client needs as changes in our society create new clinical concerns in our daily lives.
