Hi everyone! My name is Marion Kvasnicka. I am a licensed clinical social worker - LCSW. I believe in long-term relief of symptoms. I believe that developing skills with clients will help them break the patterns of thought and behavior that are wreaking havoc on their personal or work life. I focus on identifying generational trauma and helping my clients work hard to stop future abuse and trauma from continuing. I typically work with clients who suffer from acute stress, SAD, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.

Life can be full of challenges and life changing events. Some of these events and challenges can result in intense emotional distress. If you or a loved one are struggling with sadness, anxiety, stress management, loss & grief, or trauma, I would like to work with you in a mutual effort to address your distress and healing. Over the past 24 years I have been working with children, teens, adults and families to sort through emotions, build strategies & skills, and find solutions to manage the emotional struggles.

The UCI Psychological Services Center (PSC) provides low-cost, high-quality individual psychotherapy for adults over the age of 18. We have immediate availability for in-person or virtual psychotherapy. Services are offered on a sliding scale ($15-80/session) depending on family income.

Maddy Sober provides therapy for children, adolescents, & young adults. Maddy utilizes a variety of evidence‑based strategies but focuses largely on cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT). Maddy is a Diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive & Behavioral Therapies & is a Certified CBT Therapist. Maddy works with a broad range of mental health issues and specializes in the areas of emotional regulation, behavior management, anxiety disorders, depression, and stress-management. Maddy has a niche for working with young children, adolescents, and college students and has specialized training & experience in this area.

While navigating through my own life I found myself drawn to helping others and wanting to better understand their stories and motivations. After receiving my MA in psychology in 2018, I worked in a variety of settings. Welcome to my practice. I have been in practice since 2007 and have been featured on ABC, NBC, and KCAL as an expert psychologist. I work primarily with men who have hit “rock bottom” and would like help getting up. These men are often in crisis when we first meet. The issues I address are typically related to unhealthy sexual behaviors, infidelity, financial recklessness, gambling, drugs/alcohol, dishonesty/lying, and relational conflicts. My therapy approach is a combination of psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and the 12-Step recovery model. I also share insight from my own painful but redemptive recovery journey.
