You've heard of PTSD. You think you might have it. You don't know what to do about it. Your sleep is an issue because you have nightmares. Even when you don't have nightmares, you don't feel rested in the morning. You avoid pieces and parts of your life because you fear being triggered by past trauma. When the stress increases in your life, you notice higher anxiety and scarier thoughts. You want to let go of the abuse and trauma of the past. Maybe you've heard about EMDR, but you don't know where to start. When you're ready to deal with trauma, you want to start as soon as possible.

If you know this to be true, you might feel as though you are living a life that someone/something else has designed for you & that you feel you should look, act, & be a certain way. You may begin to realize that who you think you are, isn’t who you truly are & that it's time to be you regardless of what anyone says. However, the resistance & fear of your mind shows up & you remain living life as is. But the path to healing doesn’t start with the mind, it starts with the body b/c emotions are stored in the body.

I believe in creating a safe emotional space for healing and growth. I believe that growth and healing is within the person. I am here to help guide that growth through empowerment, various techniques and the bond that is established in the relationship. I believe that empathy, humor and honesty are essential to healing. Sometimes we feel blocked or held back in our life due to depression, trauma, relationship problems, limiting beliefs, or we just feel as though we are not achieving our full potential. I believe that not one technique works all the time and that a combination of various techniques is valuable.

My role is to act as a guide toward discovering and developing resources to manage the complex issues occurring in life. We will explore strengths and develop skills for you to decrease discomfort and disturbances from trauma, grief, physical and sexual assault, anxiety, depression, disordered mood or thoughts. I will provide a space for compassion and empowerment to navigate a different path.

I realize that no two people are the same and as such tailor my therapy to meet the specific needs of my clients. When appropriate, I use specialized training in Clinical Art Therapy to provide additional avenues for the expression and depth work that deep healing requires. I interweave DBT, Psychodynamic Theory and depth work to meet clients where they’re at, provide experienced containment during strenuous treatment and guide them towards a greater life worth living. My practice specializes in treating adolescents, young adults, families and group therapy.

Everyone’s journey towards living a healthy, satisfying, and rewarding life looks different, and my approach to therapy is to support you in reaching your goals on your own terms. Because I don’t believe there is a “right” answer for healing from grief and trauma, feeling more positive or hopeful, less anxious, or improving relationships, I offer a variety of treatment approaches and together we adjust our approach to be the best fit for you.
