I am a Southern Girl from New Orleans, licensed in Georgia and DC with 28 years of professional social work experience. I am also a US Army Veteran who served in the First Iraq War (Desert Storm 1991). I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, sex and intimacy related issues. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Through life’s transitions such as school or workplace stress, to relationship and family conflicts life is full of challenges that are sometimes out of our control. The pressure to manage and cope with these stressors can severely impact or be detrimental to ones mental health. Clients experiencing depression can make daily life activities seem unbearable, and it can significantly change how we see things almost as if wearing gloomy specs and disconnected from our environments.

It would be unfair to say we have all successfully moved on from COVID. Unfortunately, our society continues to address economic and social stressors that stem from COVID. Even non-traditional therapy clients are encountering high levels of suffering from burn-out, stress, anxiety, low daily satisfaction, couples conflict, and the like. We want to assist you with finding the root cause of your emotional disturbance and then developing a plan to help you find long lasting freedom from the frustration.

My passion resides in providing a warm, comfortable environment where you can truly be yourself. I integrate different theoretical models throughout practice. I have experience with diverse populations, including clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder, sexual behavior problems, stress management, self-esteem, various traumatic experiences, depression, and anxiety disorders. My goal is to help ease your most challenging emotions while addressing patterns and experiences that keep you feeling powerless in your life.

In my practice, I have the opportunity to help many clients with a variety of needs. I have worked with people as young as nine and have been fortunate enough to work with couples well into their fifties and individuals in their seventies. My clients have had concerns ranging from learning how to better function in relationships to recovering from trauma. My goal is always to move people to a place where they become equipped to better deal with life's struggles by equipping them with skills needed to face challenges.

My passion is for helping children and their parents thrive through Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, or PCIT. As a specialist in this evidenced-based approach, I understand the unique challenges parents face when they have a child with disruptive, aggressive, overactive, or destructive behaviors. I understand the anxiety a parent experiences when they don't know if their child can participate in school, summer camps, and religious activities. I understand the frustration and overwhelming feelings parents experience when they have tried many ways to manage their children's behaviors.

I believe that everyone is an author of their own story. And as with any story, the main character experiences challenges they are working to overcome. I believe that we as people experience language in a way that has created the challenges we experience as main characters, and we find difficulty in writing our story past these challenges. I work together with my clients to explore their story and assist how they want to change using their existing skills and introducing others as we take a journey to reach the goals they want.

The brain/ body connection is a sacred space that we are all born with- and, it often gets overlooked. I have Bachelor’s in both English Literature and Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and earned Master’s in both Clinical Community Counseling and School Counseling at University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, where I now moonlight as an adjunct professor of Family Counseling for their graduate program. I have been practicing for 14 years, specializing in CBT, music therapy, art therapy, play therapy, family therapy, individual therapy, and alternative therapies. I enjoy working with all ages and backgrounds.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with approximately 12 years of experience with working with children, adults, families, and couples. I am proud to have an all-inclusive practice that serves clients and families of varying ethnicities, sexual orientations, socio-economic status, and other cultural backgrounds. I take pride in providing a comfortable and welcoming (yet always professional) environment where clients are encouraged to be open and honest.
