I would love to provide that for you as we unpack challenges such as stress management, anxiety, depression, relationship matters, parenthood, the peri-natal journey (conception, pregnancy, child loss, childbirth, postpartum, etc.), trauma, and life and career transitions, among others. As a first-generation Nigerian-American, I am especially passionate about holding space for those who identify as immigrants, children of immigrants and undocumented citizens to work through the often complex acculturation experiences and unique stresses they may face.

My clients are wonderfully unique individuals, couples and families who find that certain areas of their lives are complex - becoming rapidly unmanageable. They see their lives as being out of balance - maybe from a failing relationship, or high levels of stress and anxiety. Possibly, a sense of overall sadness and depression. We all have deeply-held beliefs that produce emotions and resulting reactions. Humans are essentially relational beings and broken relationships can be the primary source of pain, conflict and frustrations in our lives. I am here to help individuals, couples and families.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who enjoys working with young people. Like adults, a young person can experience interpersonal, emotional and behavioral difficulties usually as a result of stress. I use creative therapeutic interventions to help you better express feelings and resolve problems. I can offer special insight into learning difficulties and school issues. I understand that kids can have struggles that aren't easy to work through alone. Sometimes it seems easier just to hide from your problems, but facing difficult issues with a safe person can have a much healthier outcome.

At times, hope can be hard to find when life feels burdensome and beyond your control. Maybe you feel overwhelmed with relationships, work, school, friends, or family. You feel stressed, fearful, worried or lost, sad, or like you aren’t enough. You are searching for a therapist who will listen closely to your concerns and understands you. Perhaps you feel unsure about next steps and how to work toward your life/career goals. You want more happiness, satisfying relationships, a greater sense of self, and a fulfilling life. I will provide guidance and support as you make that happen for yourself.

Thank you for taking the time to explore my approach to therapy. I have over 5 years of experience working with people to heal trauma. Traumatic events could include any experience a person perceived as threatening. My therapeutic modality is using a combination of Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Internal Relationship Focusing (IRF). I believe each client's body has the wisdom to guide us, client and therapist, through the resolution of trauma symptoms. I love to work with people who have spent considerable time in talk therapy and are now looking for alternative approaches.

I work with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions and even relationship problems, right from the comfort of their own homes. For some people, online counseling may have been convenient due to shutdowns from the Pandemic, but whether it be within home therapy or telemental health (OL), I have ALWAYS understood the importance of meeting clients exactly where they are, even if that means in my secure OL office. You determine how you spend your time in counseling. I pull from various theories and modalities including Person-Centered, IFS, Feminist, Existential and Multicultural therapies. Together we will examine your strengths, values, relationships, patterns, and goals.

I treat a variety of issues such as PTSD, ADHD, ODD, OCD, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideations, self-esteem issues, substance use, trauma, and behavioral issues. I strive to help children/teens becoming caring, loving, functional adults with a positive self-image and healthy emotional expression. In my work with adolescents, I help them to achieve life goals, build self-esteem, and healthy peer relationships. For adults with substance use I work with the client to find a path to sobriety by treating the underlying cause, using their inner strengths to support them.

I provide diagnostic assessment for ADHD and ADD, individual and couple's counseling. We also offer clinical evaluation for immigrant populations to make a huge difference in the outcome of an immigration case. Our evaluations help the best immigration attorneys in cases such as a waiver petition for extreme hardship, trauma related to domestic abuse (VAWA) or victims of crime (U-Visa or T-Visa), Cancellation of Removal, Political/Humanitarian Asylum, and even Applications for Naturalization.

It is a big challenge to be vulnerable and disclose your innermost fears, thoughts, feelings and struggles to someone.
