I believe we all have an enormous capacity to break through the barriers we face in life. I enjoy helping people navigate change and restore hope. I take an active role in helping you clarify your issues and identify effective solutions. My 25+ years of experience working as a licensed professional counselor has provided me with broad knowledge and expertise to empower you to make needed and sustained change.
When working with clients, I employ evidenced-based treatments including trauma-informed therapy, rational-emotive therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, crisis-intervention, bereavement counseling, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and spiritually-informed care. I am an EMDRIA-Certified provider of EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) a psychotherapy treatment designed to alleviate distress associated with traumatic memories.
I earned my MS in Mental Health Counseling in 1996 at Wright State University & my MA in Theological Studies in 2002 at United Theological Seminary, Dayton, OH. I am a wife, mom, & a native Richmonder. I enjoy swimming, reading, writing, sci-fi, cooking, sewing, gardening, & playing with my dogs. I am an experiencer.
