I believe the most effective therapists are those that are genuine, caring and always put their clients needs first. I have years of experience working with Addiction, Mental Health, and Families. I pride myself in being honest, trustworthy, patient, dedicated, compassionate, insightful, organized, personable, and optimistic. My desire to deeply understand problems, situations, and people led me to pursue a career as a Professional Counselor which I embrace to this day and take great pride in. Being a part of a person's transformation and helping them to become better versions of themselves is truly inspiring.

I work from the premise that every individual has the answers within themselves, and my goal is to help them discover those truths and make the changes they choose for themself. Nonjudgmental care is the cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. Learning to trust in this relationship can hold the keys to unlocking one’s ability to develop healthy relationships, a more enjoyable life, and a whole self. It is a rich place were otherwise hidden patterns and habits can be discovered and changed.

Seeking help can feel uncomfortable not only to those who have never sought therapy before, but also to those who have had negative experiences with counseling in the past. With over a decade of experience working with those who struggle with ADHD, Anxiety, Autism, Behavioral Problems, Depression, Parenting, Relationship Issues, Work Issues, etc., my goal is to create a laid back atmosphere where we work together to achieve your goals.

I am especially skilled at working with those who are uncomfortable with the idea of therapy. A client once told me "You should be a therapist for people who do not like therapy". I try to understand people on an individual level & adapt my skills to meet their needs. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, & nonjudgmental atmosphere. Therapy should not be simply "learning coping skills", to deal with negative feelings, it should involve working through the root of the problem to facilitate long-lasting change.

"We Are Currently Accepting New Clients". We offer counseling with Licensed therapists as well as Post Masters therapists. We provide a faith-based, holistic and systemic approach in a therapeutic environment. Each therapist is willing to come alongside individuals, couples and families in need. Practice standards are aligned with American Association of Christian Counselors as well as our licensed therapists are part of the AAMFT.

Mental health has a stigma. It implies that someone who is struggling needs help from a therapist just to return back to their baseline. Susan Sheidy, LMFT, is the Grace Counseling Services Clinical Director and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Christian Counseling from Liberty University and also received her Master of Arts graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty. She is licensed in Pennsylvania & Tennessee. The late poet Maya Angelou quoted, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you”. The relationship between therapist and client is of the utmost importance throughout the therapy process. As your therapist, I bring myself fully to our interactions.
