Therapy can be a transformative experience of acknowledging Self and finding a higher level of functioning. The relationship between therapist and client facilitates gentle and foundational changes aiming to discard dysfunctional coping skills and to acquire healthier tools for living. I intend to create an accepting and nonjudgmental space and connect with my clients through compassion, empathy and unconditional positive regard. I understand and cherish the intimacy and honor that is my role in my clients' lives.
Trauma is a backpack we carry around daily, not realizing how hindering its weight is. I intend to create a space where clients feel comfortable setting down the backpack and examining what's within. My goal is to look at and honor each item inside and, ultimately, relieve some of that weight.
I hold a Master's degree in Social Work from Hunter College in New York City where I advocated for transgender women of color engaged in survival sex work. I am especially passionate about working with survivors of trauma, the LGBTQ community, artists, creatives and those struggling with relationships.
