About
Services: I provide individual psychotherapy for adults, using an approach involving mindfulness based practices and an existential-humanistic mindset. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked across the full spectrum of psychotherapy settings, including private practice, mental health clinics, inpatient settings, and day treatment programs. I have also held numerous clinical leadership roles, such as the director of a county outpatient mental health center, and the director of an inpatient psychiatric unit.
Feelings like anxiety, fear, and self-doubt are normal conditions of being alive, and are not arbitrarily dysfunctional. We control many aspects of life through our decisions. We need to make conscious choices. Mindful choices increase opportunities for relationships, creativity, and non-judgmental acceptance (for self as well as others).
I received advanced training in existential psychotherapy from the late James F. T. Bugental, Ph.D., a global leader in this field (www.bugental.com). I value working with individuals on issues of meaning and purpose in life or work. Other areas of my interest include emotional intelligence and resilience.
