Hi, my name is Steven Taylor, I am a Christian Counselor and have been practicing as a therapist for 10 years. My approach to therapy is I want to get to know you and help you with whatever problem you are facing. Over the years I have worked mostly with women but I am comfortable working with anyone. I have worked in residentials and in community settings so I have helped with a litany of issues over the years and I am willing to talk about whatever it is you might be struggling with.
I want my client to be able to feel heard and understood (validated). The space I try to create is not of judgment but acceptance and help. I want them to feel free to talk about whatever is on their mind and trust that I only care to help them in the end.
In the first session I talk to the client about what they want out of therapy. I look to understand what direction they want to take their life and then try to help them think of ways to make improvements.
