About
Living this life can be difficult and burdensome. I have found that everyone encounters moments of harmful disruption, and these experiences can have lasting effects on one's whole self (body, mind and spirit). These moments can be anything from significant traumatic events to even negative relational experiences and abuses. I engage my clients with trauma-based approaches from a Christian perspective to allow for resolution of emotional stuck points so a sense of reconciliation and ultimate wholeness can be experienced.
I use a variety of techniques, but have found my clinical style to be most integrated with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dan Allender’s Narrative Focused Trauma Therapy/Story Work. I offer telemental health counseling to clients located in either Alabama or Florida.
The nature of trauma often creates a sense of feeling stuck and disconnected from ourselves and others. I appreciate how trapped, confusing, and hopeless that can feel and commend you for even starting the search for a therapist.
