Hello, I am Steven Gifford, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of Ohio. I believe that we can work together so that you can function at your highest level possible. I have many years of experience working with clients who have experienced depression, anxiety, addiction and alcoholism issues, relationship issues, and couples counseling. I believe that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help us to look at how to change behaviors to improve your life situation. I also believe that talk therapy is also a significant way to get to the results that you deserve.
I am a very matter-of-fact type of therapist. I will not "sugarcoat" or cosign any unhealthy behaviors. I will not tell you what I think you should do in any situation, but I will help you to navigate the best course of action for you to live and function at your highest level possible.
I have been a therapist since 1991 when I landed my first job as a chemical dependency counselor. I found that I thoroughly enjoy working with others to be a guide in their journey of wellness. I obtained my LPCC in 2007 so that I could broaden my knowledge base and work with others outside the addiction world.
