I primarily (but not exclusively) work with boys, men, and athletes. I also see couples and families who might be feeling stuck or lost. Anger, depression, anxiety, bereavement, sports performance, relationship issues, fathering, or being a struggling or grumpy kid comprise the bulk of my caseload these days.
I offer clarity, empathy, and efficiency without being too shrinky. I have a lot of experience in a number of settings (e.g., hospitals, schools, clinics) with a wide variety of folks (e.g., children, adults, D1 and professional athletes). I'm pretty real and I shoot straight.
I'm a full-time professor and Chair of the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at UCSB and Director of UCSB's Hosford Clinic, so my availability is often limited.
