Are you concerned about your child or adolescent? Are they struggling with peer relationships, divorce, school difficulties, worry, sadness, or behavioral issues? Are you struggling with how to respond to and manage your child's behaviors and emotions? My gentle yet direct approach helps children identify feelings and challenges, to problem solve and find new, productive ways to cope. I collaborate with parents and families in a way that has a child feeling supported, understood and cared about. I truly enjoy being invited into a child's world, and helping them feel empowered and equipped to get through life's challenges.
I have been trained in Experiential Play Therapy. This modality allows a child a safe and nurturing environment to confront and process issues through play. I serve as interpreter and collaborator, and you are apprised of the progress being made. In 2018, I also received training at the BTTI intensive workshop on OCD. I utilize CBT and ERP in treating OCD
My office is set up comfortably for talk therapy with adolescents and adults, as I reserve part of my practice for working with adolescents and adults. I also include a Christian Counseling perspective for those wanting to integrate their faith beliefs into therapy. I truly love working with people, am kind, patient, comforting and understanding.
