I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, couples, family and group therapy. I work with most private and group insurance plans as well employee assistance programs and private paying individuals. I recieved a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Tennessee in 1996 and the Licensed Clinical Social Work certification in 1999. I have been an adjunct instructor for the masters program at the UT College of Social Work, having taught courses in family therapy, group therapy, clinical social work with children and adolescents, and foundation courses.
I have worked at several mental health centers and psychiatric facilities as well as having worked and consulted in the fields of geriatrics, hospice, pain management, domestic violence, and substance abuse. I am comfortable working with problems stemming from depression, anxiety, and adjustment problems as well as psychotic mental illnesses.
I have been in private practice sincee 1999 and have presented numerous professional and public workshops. I enjoy working with people in a collaborative and flexible manner and try to respect the uniqueness of each person and the problems and life experiences that they wish to address in therapy.
