I have been a practicing psychotherapist since 1988. In that time I have come to believe that many individuals are healthier than they may think. The reasons are many. However, one problem stands out. That is, people tend to unconsciously use our western culture as a barometer for their emotional well being. That's a major issue! If society was a human individual, it would meet diagnostic criteria for several disorders. Our culture has developed a narcissistic-addictive personality organization that is defended by compulsive activity, distractions of all sorts and a desire for immediate gratifications.
If you are willing to put the necessary work in, I will partner with you to develop keener insights and new ways of viewing the world. My work is trauma and existentially based. I don't know of a better way to help my clients than assisting them to gain better think habits as well as developing a more spiritual (not religious) foundation.
Over the many years of my practice I have come to appreciate the damaging affects of trauma on the brain, mind and soul. I have also come to realize that trauma is inherent to varying degrees in the human condition-but can be also used as a springboard to further growth given a more correct outlook on life.
