I have practiced clinical psychology for 35 years. I love the process of helping people explore, understand and work through the deepest problems, conflicts and struggles of their lives and relationships. We all struggle: it is the human condition! Every person's life experiences are unique and deeply personal, as are the meanings attached to those experiences. For me the complexities and subtleties of each person's narrative are endlessly varied and fascinating, worthy of the deepest attention and respect. Not many are as privileged in their work as I am! Education - Ph.D. in child development, clinical and neuropsychology training and child and adult psychoanalysis. I see children (3 - 18) and adults in intensive treatments (most often not required). Play therapy with kids and talking with teenagers. Consultations with schools. Special interests in couples therapy and working with parents.
Home office - adults + gable-to-gable-sky-lit playroom for kids.. Professional experiences: 1) Faculty - Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis (MIP); 2) Treat learning disabled children. 3) treat childhood trauma (Director of Sexual Abuse Clinic - NEMC 1991-94). 4) acute psychiatric crises (psychologist -acute adult inpatient unit - Arbour Hospital 1986-88).
