In his 40-years' experience counseling individuals and families, Steph believes that a safe, trusting, and supportive environment is critical to confronting and addressing self-destructive behaviors and patterns. Although understanding how the past affects and shapes us is important, Steph's primary approach is to empower each person to accept that they have the ability and inner grace to create change, to move forward, and to decide upon a new pathway towards a more fulfilling present. His philosophy is that therapy is a journey with a clear destination... a stronger, empowered, and happier self.
Drawing on his personal and professional experiences in overcoming abusive relationships and past trauma, Steph knows that each individual can find their own center and their own voice. Helping define and implement realistic and practical solutions for each person to acknowledge and change what isn't working in their lives is his therapeutic objective.
