About
I am a licensed clinical social worker with 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families. I have a warm, non-judgmental manner and a good sense of humor, which has enabled me to form strong working relationships with my clients. I consider parents an invaluable source of knowledge about their children and I involve them collaboratively in understanding the presenting issues and in effecting change
I have a psychodynamic orientation using insights gained from talk, play and interpersonal dynamics to encourage expression of feelings and to promote self-understanding. In this way, I help my clients improve their coping ability, self-esteem and behavioral control. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, disruptive behavior disorders and parenting issues
In addition to my graduate training, I have a certificate in child and adolescent psychotherapy from the Metropolitan Institute for Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
