Life can be overwhelming. The challenges of living with social isolation, emotional pain, grief, anxiety and depression can prevent us from living the life we desire. The effects of trauma can be unbearable and intolerable and can affect both the individual and those around them. Low self esteem and destructive urges and behaviors deter from productive and satisfying lives.
Together, we'll improve your ability to express your feelings, reflect on your reactions and behaviors, develop life skills and gain awareness that can lead you to a more effective and full-filling life.
My approach is validating and collaborative - Warm, down-to-earth and non-intimidating, I use DBT, EMDR and DBR to best address the needs of my clients.

DBT Skills Group

The DBT group (or two academic semesters) includes the full set of skills. Mindfulness skills help people to be in the present moment instead of worrying about future stressors. Distress tolerance skills help people develop the ability to get through difficult situations without making them worse. Interpersonal effectiveness skills help people develop the ability to interact effectively with others. Finally, emotion regulation skills help people to more effectively manage and change their emotional responses.
