A Child's Life specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents and transition to adult life. The younger the family member the more the parents are incorporated into treatment. Because school is often a cause of parental concern and vital to the child's self esteem, diagnosis of ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and educationally related adjustment problems is provided. Results may include qualifying for special education, 504 Plans or accommodations for standardized testing for college entrance exams or college education. Adult treatment of depression and anxiety is also provided.
Treatment begins with a broad based assessment. This always includes a psychoscoial history and may include standardized and neuropsychological testing. The therapeutic approach is taylored to the problem. Although the practice is predominantly a secular one, I have traditional Judeo-Christian values.
My education is broad based. Apart from the Ph.D. in psychology, I also have a Bachelor's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master's degree in Theology. When needed, treatment is coordinated with a physician.
