Therapy is a rewarding and challenging journey that we will embark on together! I believe the foundation of effective treatment and a positive therapy experience is the therapeutic relationship. Thus, I seek to create an environment that is warm, understanding, and safe so that you may explore your thoughts and feelings. Through collaborative exploration, you will develop enhanced insight and awareness. With increased insight and awareness comes the opportunity for choice and change. We will explore your early relationships and identify recurring patterns or themes that may be contributing to your difficulties.
I blend insight-oriented approaches with more directive techniques when necessary to create long-lasting change and relief from disturbing symptoms and painful feelings. Some of my specialties include relationship issues; depression; anxiety; self-esteem troubles, identity issues, and feelings of emptiness; trauma; and eating disorders, emotional eating, and body image disturbance.
