Hello, my name is Stephanie Unger and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Arizona. I work specifically in Telehealth therapy with individuals of all ages with a primary focus in children and adolescents ages 12-20 years old. At heart, I am believer in the therapeutic approach of the Humanistic tenants of unconditional positive regard, empathy and genuineness. These hallmarks allow a space for openness and non-judgement while the client works through the process of therapy. Relationship building is a key component of the client/therapist rapport as a way to assist you in your counseling sessions.
Relationship building is important to me and the process of building client/therapist rapport. I like to get to know what is important to the client, what their interests are, and the important people in their life. My hope is the client feels they have a space to share, feel empowered in an environment free from judgement.
This will begin in the initial assessment. The client is coming the therapy for a reason and goal setting is based on your needs. We will look at this together and make decisions collaboratively to focus our time to meet your goals in a safe space.
