Stephanie Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2003. Stephanie graduated with a Master's in Education with a specialty in agency counseling from George Mason University. She has 30 years of experience working for the Community Services Board in Fairfax County. During this time, Stephanie worked in residential, day treatment and outpatient services. She has experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults. Her passion is to help individuals and families to improve their relationship with themselves and other people in their lives.
When working with clients, Stephanie explores with them the stressors in their lives and helps them develop coping skills. The primary techniques used include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Play Therapy. These techniques can help with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress management and much more.
