I believe that resilience is in all of us and healing is a path we can choose to walk at any time if we are willing to take the first step. Sometimes even helping professionals need their own helper, someone to listen to their experiences and walk alongside them as they process the challenges of helping. Focusing on secondary traumatic stress and occupational stress issues I believe my role as a therapist is to support clients as they navigate their healing process.
I have worked with families and children impacted by trauma including issues of foster care, adoption, parent/child attachment, child custody issues, parenting time, and mental health. Trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy I have worked with children and their caregivers who experienced trauma. I bring a trauma informed approach to therapy.
I have worked with children, couples, and families as a clinical social worker for over 14 years in Michigan, and have experience working with other helping professionals to address secondary traumatic stress and issues of occupational burnout. As a therapist, I view my role as supporting my clients in the healing work they choose to do.
