I am a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked in the field of community mental health for 20 years. In that time, and through my work with a variety of individuals and families, I have come to believe that therapy is most effective when it is engaging, collaborative and client centered.
Most often than not, people seek therapy when problems have become overwhelming and significantly dominate their everyday lives. Through our conversations, my goal is to come to a clear and comprehensive understanding of the problem at hand, as well as to jointly create alternative ways of living that stand aside from this dominant problem.
I speak French, Spanish and English fluently. My multicultural background and experiences influence my thinking that problems are embedded, supported and reinforced within social and cultural contexts. My thinking is also grounded in a neuro-developmental foundation which guides me in understanding the current functional and developmental capacities of individuals and families that I serve.
