Life is complicated, as are people and relationships! If you're struggling, it's probably a good time to reach out. I became a therapist due to my strong belief in the transformative power of therapy. My goal as a therapist is to help people better understand how they came to think, feel, and behave in ways that no longer serve them well in order to then help them to actualize the change, growth, and healing that they want to see in order to lead more satisfying and deliberate lives. I work well with individuals who want to improve their lives and who are committed to the process of doing so.
I have years of experience working with individuals who suffer from anxiety, depression, relationship issues, attachment wounding, PTSD, and more. I also have extensive training in a wide variety of therapeutic modalities including DNMS, EMDR and Level 1 Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. In addition, I offer both in-person sessions and Teleheath sessions.
I am a caring, non-judgmental, empathetic individual, who believes that these things in addition to my own history of experience, my having taught at the University of Toledo for 20 years (where I aimed to teach my students to better understand themselves and the world), and my background in social/critical theory inform and enhance the work that I do.
