I am licensed in California and Colorado. I am also a certified Oncology Social Worker. Reaching out for support does not mean you can’t handle life, it means someone is wise enough to recognize the benefit of support. The client’s priorities are where we begin our work together. Because of my unique, extensive training in health care as well as young child growth/development/trauma, my practice focus areas include but are not limited to, everyday parenting challenges clients with cancer or other medical challenges, anxiety, depression, coping, and life changes.
My therapeutic approach includes but is not limited to, the use of CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, reflective listening, validation, and a strength-based approach. The use of a client's self-knowledge and insight are our strongest tools.
I hope clients walk away from our sessions with a renewed sense of positive self-worth, competence, confidence in their own skills and insight, and continually decreasing reliance on others to foster their strengths. I work to provide a non-judgmental, welcoming, and validating environment.
