Is it hard for you to slow down and relax? Do you constantly feel pressured to try harder or be perfect? Does your brain constantly replay the most difficult moments of your life? The endless pressure to find our "purpose" and be "good enough" can lead to feelings of worry/ anxiety, anger, sadness, avoidance and isolation. These feelings can be overwhelming and leave us feeling disconnected from the people and activities that matter to us the most. My goal is to support you slowing down, reconnecting with what's important and finding moments of relief.
I work best with highly motivated folks struggling with anxiety, CPTSD, anger and grief. My approach uses a humanistic lens, meaning you are the expert of your experience. I use a blend of Narrative, ACT and Trauma Focused CBT, as well as psycho-education on the brain, to help validate that overwhelming experiences aren't personal failures.
The most important part of therapy is feeling comfortable enough to build a therapeutic relationship. Building this rapport will take as long as you need. I do my best to create a safe enough space to discuss how difficult life is, and help you identify the areas where you feel stuck but also the areas you may be thriving and haven't realized yet.
