About

I enjoy working with individuals who are hoping, through therapy, to live happier, healthier, fuller lives. Many people don't realize that they have the power to create much better lives for themselves simply by changing the way in which they talk to themselves on a daily (or even a minute-by-minute) basis. I enjoy working with people who are struggling with relationships, sexual identity, self-harming coping strategies, and difficulties relating to food, alcohol, and other substances. From the beginning, the focus is on building a safe, trusting relationship that makes it easy to laugh and share freely.
Specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety, and depression, I help people to understand the origins and purpose of their symptoms and to replace self-harming behaviors with healthy, effective coping strategies. I teach people to respond to themselves in kind, compassionate ways, whether responding to hunger, fullness, or any emotion.
People can experience relief from anxiety, depression, and self-harming behaviors by changing the way they respond to stressful and overwhelming situations. I teach strategies from a variety of modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy, to help people create healthier, happier lives.

Lending support to parents and family members will not only strengthen the client seeking therapy, but the entire family system. This Tuesday evening group meetings from 6:05 - 7:05 pm and provides information about the origins of eating disorders and treatment options, as well as emotional support and guidance to those who have a family member suffering from an eating disorder. Although the group primarily attracts parents of those recovering from eating disorders, it is open to any individual who has a family member suffering from an eating disorder.
