I'm a mature and experienced clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst who has been practicing psychotherapy for over forty years. I'm a dedicated and responsive professional, and insightful and empathetic listener. My training and clinical experience will help us to work together to understand and address your concerns and distress. I'm easy to talk with: respectful, attentive, and interpersonally engaged and receptive. While sensitive and compassionate, I'm also direct and down to earth. In my many years of working with people, I have experience with the full range of issues that bring people to psychotherapy.
I trained as a psychoanalyst at the William Alanson White Institute. I'm Past-Director of its Licensure-Qualifying Program in Psychoanalysis, Supervising Analyst and faculty member. I'm very active in teaching, training and supervising the work of other psychotherapists, have published in professional journals, and have given papers at national conferences.
I've served as Co-Director of Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis, President, New York State Psychological Association's Division of Psychoanalysis, and on the faculty at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and Icahn School of Medicine/ Mt Sinai.
