I am an LGBTQ+ affirming counselor and trained in treating anxiety, depression, self-harm thoughts, suicidal ideation, and trauma. I focus on validating thoughts and feelings, building coping skills in order to make healthy choices, and exploring where clients have control over their own lives.
I have experience in providing therapeutic services to children, teens, as well as younger and older adults in various settings. I've worked in partial hospitalization programs, hospitals, public and alternative schools, and outpatient settings. I've received advanced training in DBT and I'm experienced in utilizing CBT and other strengths-based approaches.
I am passionate about providing clients with empathetic, nonjudgmental, and consistent therapeutic treatment. I recognize that every person deserves respect and to be treated with dignity, no matter what. I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as “perfect” or "normal." I embrace learning from mistakes and I know that "being weird" can be a gift.
