I have enjoyed working with adolescents, adults & families for nearly three decades. While I have maintained a private practice for many years, during my career I've provided therapy & advocacy for high school students in school-based settings. I've had extensive experience with individual, group & family work, as well as with crisis intervention. I'm especially interested in issues of identity development, as I believe that a healthy sense of self is essential for wellness. I've participated in advanced trainings to work with those who identify as LGBTQIA+ & provide Gender Affirming Care.
I use psychodynamic, relational, systems theory, strength-based & client centered approaches. As someone who believes that our past informs our present, I hope to create a safe space for exploration & repair. Individual, family & group work may include parts/systems work, mindfulness techniques & stress management strategies.
I'm aware that folks may feel cautious about beginning therapy because it is often assumed to be such a long commitment. While this frequently turns out to be true, I'm also open to short-term work when appropriate & maintenance sessions when needed.
