Betrayal often causes a person to feel broken, angry, confused, anxious, depressed, lost or even crazy. Betrayal by a spouse or anyone we trust or rely on can cause trauma, fear of trusting again, loss of sense of worth, and much pain. With work, healing can occur. Infidelity, betrayal, and deception are devastating to our lives and wellbeing. I am sorry you are having to seek this help. I know the pain. My area of focus is working with individuals who have been betrayed. I am dedicated to helping you overcome this upheaval. I have formal training in navigating these complex issues and experience with this area of care.
My certification in betrayal trauma is through APSATS. I treat clients with compassion and respect as they process the internal explosion of devastation upon discovering betrayal. My goal is to assist each person with a healing process tailored to your unique needs. While my training focused on betrayal by a partner, the principles apply to all betrayals.
Often betrayal can be worked through and relationships reconciled. At other times, there may be a need for separation or ending a relationship. Legal issues may be involved which adds complexity and fear. In any situation, I am dedicated to assisting you in finding the path that is right for you and supporting you in that. Managing the effects of betrayal.
This is a psychoeducational group (not therapy) that meets monthly on Saturday morning 9:00-12:00. The discovery or disclosure of betrayal shatters much in us. At first, we don't know where to turn for help or what to do to help ourselves. This group is designed to help you navigate through this and gain support when you most need it. We talk about what happens to us when we learn of betrayal, how to care for ourselves, needed boundaries, timing of decisions, rebuilding identity and worth, and much more. Group incorporates a Christian perspective.
