Stacey Tweedt, MA, LPCC, LADC-S; When we give our power away/have it taken away it creates a vacuum & we may feel compelled to fill it somehow (surrendering to others, losing ourselves in relationships, addictions or dysfunctional /sabotaging behaviors). This all prevents a major human function from happening, feeling the truth of ALL our feelings and because people either process or project their experiences, they will continue to experience similar situations, until resolved. Both men & women, may have been shamed away from feelings (sometimes through violence, abuse or neglect) either by families or culture, which needs to stop.
Together we will develop insight, identify/address these feelings, and implement skills that will foster growth. I use an integrated approach including; Interrelational Trauma Therapy, Adlerian, Schema Based, Solution Focused, Cognitive Processing, Somatic, Polyvagal Theory, Mindfulness and other skills based therapies/interventions to support healing.
My 16yrs of experience has led me to approach therapy with directness & a sense of humor. I’ve learned much about the human experience — no one is immune to suffering. Everyone experiences pain. We are resilient & we are all deserving of happiness. It would be my privilege to join you on your journey to find your happiness. A journey towards new awakenings.
