I believe that everyone has inner strengths and abilities that are at times overshadowed by life circumstances and physical/mental health/spiritual struggles. With caring support and encouragement individuals can regain perspective, recognize and use their strengths, and grow further in their ability to manage symptoms and life stressors allowing them to overcome barriers to their wellness. Having 35 years of experience in the mental health field, I've dealt with a variety of issues primarily in the areas related to depression, anxiety, trauma/abuse, emotional regulation and grief/loss.
I work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy perspective (& DBT) and incorporate my Christian beliefs into treatment when sought. My goal for those I work with are recovery and wellness; helping individuals gain new insight, perspectives & skills that allow them to tackle life's challenges with confidence & courage to reach their dreams and goals.
