As a therapist, I get excited about the opportunity for change in a person’s life. I take a holistic approach, considering the many factors that affect a client’s mental and emotional state, not just the presenting problem. My goal is to connect with a person in such a way that allows me to understand the influences - family, friends, environment and medication - that contribute to their specific situation. My background as a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified teacher and school counselor, as well as working for 16+ years with at-risk individuals, from four years to adult, allows me to treat a wide range of clients.
Some of my specialties include trauma, anxiety, depression and life transitions. My training and experience give me a broad perspective to draw from during treatment, enabling me to use a variety of therapeutic tools, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT) and Therapeutic Play.
