Developing solutions to help us manage our daily lives is an important first step in this process. Many days, pressure from others’ expectations can be mentally, physically & emotionally draining. It seems you are never good enough, always pushing toward perfection. Working hard, putting time in day and night, struggling to perform at work, school, home, with sports, family and peers. This can lead to overwhelming amounts of stress, fear, sadness, conflict, and irritability, impacting choices made. You want to feel valued and accepted, and are told to be mentally tough and stay strong. On the inside you are nervous, and fear failure. Outside pressure can be overwhelming, bringing feelings of self doubt, and fear.

Depression/anxiety, addiction/substance abuse, conflict in interpersonal relationships (including Collaborative Law Process), athletics/sports & other mental-health related issues are often signs of the destructive and dysfunctional ways individuals/families cope with life's stressors and anxieties. The goal is to devise a customized treatment plan that will weaken or eliminate the patterns, cycles, and habits that keep the individual/family from living a more successful, productive, and emotionally fulfilling life. Clients learn about themselves, and how to use evidence-based strategies to improve their mental well-being and optimize their performance. Together, we find effective ways to handle and overcome the pressures of competitive sports and life.

Mr. Xavier Bailey is a LISW-CP in the state of South Carolina who has 8 years plus of experience providing clinical care services to individuals and couples in a multitude of healthcare and therapeutic environments. Xavier completed his Bachelor of Science in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina – Upstate in 2013 and his Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina – Columbia in 2016.
