You’re caught in another thought loop. You try to stop and think about something, anything else. But the harder you fight it, the more stuck you get. You’re lost in endless hypothetical scenarios. What if I lose my job? What if this pain in my side is actually something more serious? You’ve begun to second-guess every decision. Your confidence is at an all-time low. The people in your life have noticed that something is wrong. You don’t know how to tell them that you’re suffocating under the weight of constant fear. That you’re almost ready to give up. You need to make a change, but you don’t know how. It all feels so hopeless.

Although I'm trained as a generalist, and therefore work with a wide variety of clients and topics, I specialize in helping my clients work through anxiety and OCD related issues & managing pressures to reach their goals in relationships, work, sports, performance, school, & life in general.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck? Do you ever feel alone in life’s stress or frustrated by unhealthy patterns you just can’t shake on your own? You’re not alone. I prioritize getting to know you, your strengths, and your needs as we work together to establish goals for therapy. Starting with the very first session, I will work with you to build a trusting relationship, through which we'll work towards your growth, healing, and peace of mind. I want my clients to leave their session feeling heard and cared, with a better understanding of themselves, and with a few practical steps to take towards growth between meetings.

I have been in private practice for over 17 years. I work with people who are dealing with Anxiety and depression disorders. During the time in private practice, I stared to see more adolescent clients. I believe that my experience in music and athletics have helped me in developing a rapport with the adolescent population. I became extremely interested in psychology in sports, and the impact the mental game can have on an athletic performance. I enjoy helping athletes improve their mental game and getting the best performance they can on a consistent basis. I also offer neurofedback to those who want an alternative to medicine.

Are you feeling worried? Lacking energy and feeling like you are getting nowhere? Feel like you are not being heard? These are some common complaints I hear from individuals looking to make improvements in their own lives. I empower clients to develop creative and effective solutions to obstacles, with the overall goal of achieving happiness and an overall sense of contentment. I primarily utilize EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to assist clients in removing emotional blocks and to move on from traumatic experiences

Hello! I am a mental skills coach and mental health counselor licensed in NC & FL. My primary specialty generally includes two groups: (1) athletes & (2) people struggling with past trauma. My work with athletes centers around helping them perform their best at practice and competition. As a competitive athlete and strength coach, I understand how essential sport and exercise can be to us. Sports Performance Therapists

How does sports psychology work?

Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualization, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?

The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?

Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?

Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
